The building was massive, and in it’s own unique way, quite a charmer. Roselyn Diana had inherited the property from some distant relative she had never met, and knew absolutely nothing about it. She had to get on a plane and fly to England, and then take a cab an hour and a half away from all other civilization to find the old place. It resembled something like a mansion, or a retirement home, or perhaps even an old hospital. She felt somehow connected to it, and decided she would spend some time there and decide whether to move in or sell it. She spent the rest of the day looking through the dusty place. Most of the rooms were locked, but she later found a ring of keys inside a desk, along with a chilling file. She read the file, seated in an old dusty chair. What she read was very shocking indeed. Apparently the place had been an old psychiatric ward for children and young adults, They were described as ‘devil children’, as in that year (1801) pretty much anything strange was deemed to be controlled by demons. According to the files, the home had been shut down due to patient deaths. The patients had been dying a lot, with cuts and bruises over a lot of their body. Others seemed to have starved to death. The place had been shut down eventually, and the staff hung for mistreating the patients. Roselyn felt the need to try and open the place back up, see if she could do better than her old ancestors did. Crews were sent into the building to clean it, refurbish it, and rebuild some of it. The name on the building was changed from ‘Nest Building’ to ‘Diana Ward’. Everything seemed to be going great, and she began hiring staff. The staff lived within the ward, since the nearest town was over an hour’s drive away. Though everything was clean and new, the patients began to show signs much similar to those patients that were contained within the file. Roselyn had a chilling feeling that something was going on far past her original expectations. Was her staff mistreating her patients? Or were those chilling screams and thumping on the walls more than just her frightened patients? Had the murdered children and miscreant staff of 1801 come back to haunt them… or were Roselyn and her staff losing their minds along with their patients? |
